My Kundalini Story Part 1: Artist

Part 1: Artist

My story starts in acting school. Acting training dismantles the societal ideas, held in your body, about how you should express yourself.

It frees your creative impulse and teaches you to surrender to it and follow it. Actors breathe together, move together, look into each other’s eyes, and create together.

I strengthened and toned my body and voice while honing my ability to focus and listen deeply.

Dr. Liz's headshot from her early twenties. She sits on a wood floor with one leg folded up, wearing tight jeans and a black off the shoulder sweater. She smiles big at the camera. She has blonde curly shoulder length hair.

Surrender, presence, breath, empathy, and a strong, sensitive nervous system are all vital pieces of spiritual awakening.

During my last year, I empathized deeply with a character I was playing- Olga in Chekov's Three Sisters-and started to weep daily. Deep, heaving sobs were coming out of me. I didn't know why.

To be continued…
